I am definitely one of those people who are obsessed with the Royal Family. I am all about their lives, their clothes and their weddings. (Yes, I was up at 4 am to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.)

There is something about it that I find so fascinating and so does my family. I recently found the show The Crown which I had never heard of before and decided to give it a shot. And guys…its amazing. Here are my thoughts below after finishing season 1.

The show focuses on the life on Queen Elizabeth starting from when she became Queen. There are only 2 or 3 episodes in which her father King George VI is King. For a Queen who has reigned for so long, it is interesting to see a glimpse into the time following her coronation.

The Show Itself

The show gives a great view into history, but also  depicts the characters and the drama in a way that doesn’t feel like you are watching a documentary. I do love documentaries and I love history, but this feels more like a drama.

History Element

I also find it very interesting to see how life was throughout history and this gives a great view into that including food, clothes, transportation, etc. There is also a great view into the lives of the Royal Family. I cannot say that it is all accurate, because lets be honest, the only person who could say is Queen Elizabeth herself.

There is a great deal of drama that happens throughout the first season, including The Queen herself, Prince Phillip, Winston Churchill and Princess Margaret. With so much happening in the first season it seems as though every episode really keeps you interested.

As you could probably tell, I absolutely love this show and I am starting season 2 as I am writing this post. Keep a look out for how season 2 was and let me know if any of you have tried this show!
